DIgSILENT

DIgSILENT GmbH established by Martin Schmieg in 1985, has evolved to an international first class producer of power system analysis software “Made in Germany”.

DIgSILENT GmbH is a fully independent, privately owned company located in Gomaringen close to Stuttgart, Germany where the new offices are in operation since early 2002.

DIgSILENT GmbH is staffed with experts of various disciplines relevant for performing highly spezialised consulting services, research activities and software developments. Special expertise is available in many actual fields of electrical engineering for the liberalised power market and latest power generation technologies in the renewable energy sector.

DIgSILENT continued expansion by establishing offices in Australia, South Africa, Italy, Spain, France, Chile, and the USA allowing to better serve the world-wide increase in its software products and services.

DIgSILENT has software installations and conducted services in more than 140 countries.

DIgSILENT GmbH is operating its own mini hydro power plant with 200 kW installed capacity. Two Francis turbines are producing around 1 GWh a year. The power plant which is operated since 1909 is fully automated and especially used for equipment testing and research activities for measurement and test methods.

In addition, since 2010 a 100 kWp photovoltaic plant consisting of 12 individually controlled tracker systems is operating in a addition to two roof-mounted PV system with 7 kWp and 14 kWp respectively.
