Quindos 2026 – Advanced Metrology Software

170 $

QUINDOS Advanced Metrology Software is Hexagon’s modular CMM inspection platform for special geometries that standard CAD metrology cannot handle reliably—gears, turbine blades, camshafts, screw compressors, threads, and freeform powertrain parts.

Program and evaluate complex components in one CAD-enabled environment: PMI-driven inspection planning, standards-compliant GD&T, high-speed scanning, and dedicated modules for cylindrical, bevel, and specialty gears. Build collision-safe routines offline with I++ Simulator, run them on Hexagon or third-party CMMs via I++ DME, and feed results into Q-DAS and shop-floor reporting.

Trusted in aerospace, automotive, and energy quality labs where traceability, PTB-certified algorithms, and repeatable gear/blade evaluation decide whether a part ships. Scale from QUINDOS Basic to specialist modules as your inspection mix grows.

Description

🎯 QUINDOS 2026 Advanced Metrology Software — CMM Inspection for Gears, Blades & Special Geometries

QUINDOS 2026 (current main release QUINDOS 2026.1, shipped 21 April 2026) is Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s modular metrology software for coordinate measuring machines when the part is not a simple prismatic block. Quality labs use it to program, scan, evaluate and report special geometries: cylindrical and bevel gears, unknown/reverse-engineered gears, Hirth serrations, curvic couplings, turbine blades and airfoils, camshafts, screw compressors, cylindrical worms, API threads and freeform powertrain surfaces.

If you are searching for QUINDOS 2026 software, CMM gear measurement software, turbine blade inspection software, or a CAD/PMI platform that also talks to mixed-brand machines via I++ DME, this is the release to specify on the purchase order. Version 2026.1 is built around three shop-floor realities: the machine must stay inside spec, scan programs must not take all afternoon, and drivetrain reports must show more than a single average number.

Patches in the 2026.1 line run through QUINDOS 2026.1.4 (11 September 2026). Buy the 2026 licence with a current Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) and install the latest patch before you validate production routines.

✨ Why quality teams upgrade to QUINDOS 2026.1

  • ⚙️ CMM Check 3.0 inside QUINDOS — interim-test the machine with the new compact gauge, with or without a rotary table, then push results to Q-DAS.
  • ⚡ Variable high-speed scanning (VHS) with less code — draw or generate scan paths on the CAD model; control points and scan parameters run in the background.
  • 🔄 Rotary-table CAD programming in one step — fixed or variable rotary positions for multi-axis gears, blades and cams.
  • ⚙️ Deeper gear & drivetrain evaluation — Hirth radial runout, per-tooth thickness (range + eccentricity), cylindrical worm tip-relief for NVH-related quality.
  • ☁️ E57 point clouds + stronger mesh tools — bring ASTM E57 scanner data into the same environment as tactile CMM work.
  • 🧭 Guided geometry & predefined strategies — faster setup for repeat jobs; UI, reporting and file-handling updates for programmers and operators.
  • 🧩 Same modular platform — QUINDOS Basic plus specialist options; I++ Simulator offline; I++ DME on supported Hexagon and third-party CMMs.

“QUINDOS 2026.1 is designed to help inspection teams work faster and more efficiently without compromising accuracy. By simplifying complex workflows and introducing more automation, we’re enabling users to focus on what matters most—delivering high-quality measurement results and improving overall productivity.” — Karin Schneider, Product Manager, QUINDOS, Hexagon.

🆕 What’s new in QUINDOS 2026.1 — functions in full

🛡️ CMM Check 3.0 — standard-compliant machine monitoring

A gear or blade certificate is only as good as the CMM that produced it. QUINDOS 2026.1 adds full support for the CMM Check 3.0 test gauge so interim testing and monitoring stay inside the same software the inspectors already use.

  • New compact test specimen replaces the previous generation.
  • Works on systems with and without rotary tables — one method across mixed cells.
  • Complete loop in QUINDOS: measure → evaluate → graphical report.
  • Export in Q-DAS format so machine health sits next to part SPC.

Use this when auditors ask how you prove the CMM was inside specification on the day the first-article pack was signed.

⚡ Simplified variable high-speed scanning (VHS)

High-speed scanning used to mean extra commands for path, control points and speed. In 2026.1 you create scan paths directly on CAD geometries — interactively or via CNC programming — and QUINDOS handles control points and scan parameters in the background.

  • Fewer commands per scan feature.
  • New point types built for automation and repeatable CNC strategies.
  • Shorter part programs and faster first-piece prove-out on freeform and special surfaces.
  • Same scanning stack still supports multi-sensor tactics (tactile scanning plus optical/laser where the machine and options allow).

🔄 CNC-compatible CAD programming with rotary table support

Multi-axis inspection fails when every rotary index is hand-built. QUINDOS 2026.1 generates measurement points for fixed or variable rotary positions in a single CAD step.

  • Less manual indexing logic in the part program.
  • More consistent point distribution around gears, blades, cams and rotors.
  • Cleaner reuse when the next part is the same family at a new helix, module or twist.

⚙️ Enhanced gear and drivetrain analysis

QUINDOS is Hexagon’s specialist platform for powertrain geometries. 2026.1 adds evaluation tools that show up on real FAIR / PPAP packs:

  • 🔷 Hirth serration — new radial runout evaluation with graphical reporting (index couplings, turbine and shaft joints).
  • 📏 Gear tooth thickness — visual analysis of individual teeth, including range and eccentricity, not only a single mean thickness.
  • 🌀 Cylindrical worms — linear tip-relief analysis aimed at contact quality and NVH, not only basic worm geometry.

These sit on the existing QUINDOS Gears portfolio: cylindrical gears and segments, unknown-gear reverse engineering, herringbone, racks (constant and variable ratio), straight and spiral bevel (including crown/face gears), curvic couplings, plus GDE (Gear Data Exchange) for cylindrical gears to VDI/VDE 2610. Cylindrical involute algorithms in recent QUINDOS generations carry PTB certification against ISO 1328-1:2013 and related VDI/VDE gear guidelines.

☁️ E57 point clouds and improved mesh inspection

Scanner data no longer has to live in a separate island. QUINDOS 2026.1 imports E57 (ASTM E2807), the vendor-neutral 3D laser-scan container used across many portable and optical systems.

  • Import E57 point clouds into the QUINDOS inspection environment.
  • Separate clouds using the CAD model.
  • Remove unwanted artefacts faster before colour-map or special-geometry evaluation.
  • Keep tactile CMM results and scan-derived meshes in one database and one report style.

Pair this with the Mesh & Point Cloud Inspection option (64 GB RAM class workstation — see requirements below).

🖥️ Usability, reporting, file handling and diagnostics

  • 🧭 Guided geometry handling for less guesswork on complex features.
  • 📋 Predefined evaluation strategies for repetitive / standardised jobs.
  • 🖼️ UI, reporting and data-handling refinements across planning, execution and evaluation.
  • 📂 New command to open files from inside QUINDOS with the associated Windows application (logs, external reports, text/XML objects) — useful when support asks “send the file.”

🧱 What the QUINDOS 2026 platform still includes

2026.1 is an evolution of the same programmable system labs have validated for years. You do not throw away the architecture when you upgrade.

📐 CAD, PMI and GD&T

  • CAD-enabled 3D programming and visualisation (IGES, STEP, BREP and native interfaces depending on licensed converters).
  • PMI-driven inspection planning from 3D models, including formats expanded in the 2025 line (Creo, JT, STEP AP242) and the PMI Strategy Editor for company-standard probing methods.
  • Standards-compliant GD&T evaluation and reporting aligned to international and industry practice.

🧪 Offline programming and mixed hardware

  • I++ Simulator digital twin — build and collision-check programs offline so the CMM stays in production.
  • I++ DME — one QUINDOS line across supported Hexagon CMMs and third-party machines that speak the interface.
  • Structured programming, variables, maths, custom command libraries and operator UI designer for shop-floor simplification.

📊 Data, SPC and enterprise quality

  • Transparent inspection-plan database (not a disposable flat file) — objects remain queryable for audits and re-evaluation.
  • Q-DAS / eMMA Fusion connections and Hexagon Metrology Reporting options.
  • CMM Check results and part results in the same statistical pipeline when you export Q-DAS.

🧩 Modular licences (build the stack you actually run)

  • QUINDOS Basic — CAD-capable core for standard and advanced prismatic work; foundation for every specialist module.
  • Special geometry modules — gears, blades/airfoils, camshafts, threads/API, screw compressors, curves, pallets, feature-based inspection, and more.
  • Solution modules — CMM Check, mesh & point cloud, offline simulation, reporting and analytics connectors.

Tell us the geometries on your fixture list; we map modules instead of selling a generic “full pack” you will never open.

🏭 Who QUINDOS 2026 is for

  • 🚗 Automotive & e-powertrain — gears, shafts, housings, cams, couplings; thickness and runout that affect NVH and durability.
  • ✈️ Aerospace — blades, airfoils, Hirth and curvic joints, high-accuracy freeform and GD&T packs.
  • ⚡ Energy & turbomachinery — large gears, rotors, compressor screws, blade sections.
  • 🛠️ Contract inspection & gear shops — turn a general CMM into a capable gear/blade station without buying a second dedicated tester for every job.
  • 🧪 Central quality labs that must keep one software language across several CMM brands.

💻 System requirements for QUINDOS 2026

Always confirm the matrix printed in the official QUINDOS 2026.1 Release Notes on Hexagon Nexus before you purchase a PC. 🛠️ Patches, bug fixes and how to stay current

Hexagon publishes detailed command-level fixes (QDS tickets) in the official PDF release notes on Nexus — not on the public marketing site. For store and SEO purposes, this is the verified public patch train:

  • 📦 QUINDOS 2026.1 — main release, 21 April 2026.
  • 🔧 2026.1.2 — patch announced 19 May 2026.
  • 🔧 2026.1.3 — patch announced 1 July 2026 (alongside 2025.2.6).
  • 🔧 QUINDOS 2026.1.4 — latest public patch, 11 September 2026; see release notes chapter 11.

Those notes cover command corrections, CAD/grouping edge cases, controller and interceptor updates, installer/dongle-driver behaviour and third-party sensor stacks. If a routine “worked on 2025.2 and looks odd on 2026.1.0,” install 2026.1.4 first, then open a ticket with the chapter-11 build number in the subject line.

We do not list unofficial ticket dumps or warez “system requirement” pages. Your contract spec is the PDF that ships with the build you download from Nexus / download.quindos.de with valid access.

💡 Interesting facts

  • 🧠 A general CMM can act as a gear tester. Enter nominal gear data; QUINDOS generates travel paths, probe points and scan lines. That is why job shops buy modules instead of a second dedicated gear checker for every helix.
  • 📜 PTB-certified cylindrical involute maths in recent generations (ISO 1328-1:2013, VDI/VDE 2612 Part 1 / 2613) — a serious differentiator versus generic CMM software that only “plots a gear-looking chart.”
  • 🔌 I++ DME is the multi-brand trick. One programmer language across supported machines beats teaching three native UIs.
  • 🏁 Hexagon publicly ties its metrology stack to high-end motorsport quality work (Oracle Red Bull Racing case: fewer faults over two seasons). QUINDOS is the special-geometry sibling in that same Manufacturing Intelligence family.
  • 🗄️ QUINDOS is database-native. Inspection plans are objects you can re-evaluate, compare (including GearCompare-style cylindrical comparisons from the 2025 line) and wrap in a simplified operator UI.
  • 📏 CMM Check 3.0 is not a pretty icon — it is how you defend a blade or gear certificate when the customer asks “was the machine verified that week?”
  • 🌐 E57 support matters because portable laser and optical vendors already deliver that format. 2026.1 reduces the “scan PC → USB stick → other software → PDF” chain.

📦 What you should put on the quote

  1. QUINDOS 2026.1 licence (Basic + the modules that match your parts).
  2. Current SMA so 2026.1.4 and the next patch are legal to install.
  3. I++ Simulator seats if programmers should not occupy the CMM.
  4. Mesh & Point Cloud option + 64 GB workstation if you will ingest E57 / meshes.
  5. CMM Check 3.0 gauge + procedure if you need ISO-style interim tests in the same UI.
  6. Controller / I++ DME compatibility check for non-Hexagon machines.
  7. Training for VHS-on-CAD and rotary-table point generation — that is where 2026.1 saves hours.

❓FAQ

Is QUINDOS 2026 the same as PC-DMIS?
No. PC-DMIS is Hexagon’s general CMM platform. QUINDOS is the modular specialist for gears, blades and other special geometries, with deeper evaluation standards and programmable toolboxes for those parts. Many groups run both.

Can I run QUINDOS 2026 on Windows 10?
Hexagon still lists Windows 10 Pro 22H2 for current builds, but Windows 10 support from Microsoft ended October 2025. New PCs should be Windows 11 Pro 24H2.

Do I need new hardware for 2026.1?
Not always. If you already meet the Xeon / RTX Ada / ECC RAM class and you are not adding mesh/E57, you may only need the licence + SMA. Mesh & point cloud and heavy CAD are the RAM and GPU triggers.

Which patch should I install?
2026.1.4 (September 2026) unless Hexagon has issued a newer chapter on Nexus the week you go live.

Will my 2025 part programs run?
Most validated programs migrate, but special-geometry options, rotary-table handling and VHS syntax should be regression-tested on a golden part. That is what SMA + a pilot lot are for.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powertrain quality engineer, automotive tier-1

“We run cylindrical and bevel gears plus the occasional Hirth coupling on mixed-brand CMMs. QUINDOS 2026.1 is the first release where scan-path setup and rotary-table point generation stopped eating the programming shift. CMM Check 3.0 in the same UI is what I show auditors. Still a specialist tool — not a weekend click-through — but for special geometries it remains the package I will defend in a budget meeting.”
