Petrel 2022.4 is a quality and stability improvement release where we have focused on ensuring the platform is robust and easy to use. Please read the release notes to find the full list of improvements and fixes delivered.

DATA (STUDIO)

The focus of the Studio E&P knowledge platform has been improving performance for spatial filtering and transfer performance consistency, when multiple users are transferring data between projects and the repository.

FOUNDATION

Petrel 2022.4 has a focus on stability and quality. This is reflected with bug fixes for tool palettes and enhancements in workflow editor steps.
The bitmap export was improved, the window toolbar is no longer captured when exporting the bitmap for white windows, such as Map, Viewport and Function windows.

GEOLOGICAL INTERPRETATION

Petrel 2022.4 delivers improved performance for displaying the surfaces with enhanced contouring in the map window. The performance of editing well tops from large well tops collections in well section window has also been improved.

It offers improved control over geological targets in well design. Now users can manually drag geological targets in all X, Y, Z directions in the intersection and in the interpretation window.

In the well section window, the width of the read-out box is dynamic and expands with the track. This is enabled for all the items, apart from depogrid properties and residual logs.

In the histogram window, it is now possible to apply saved searches for displayed well data. The import parameters for the LAS files are now remembered within a Petrel platform session.
