Description
🖥️ Veesus Arena4D Data Studio 2026.3 — Point Cloud & Gaussian Splat Software
Veesus Arena4D Data Studio 2026.3 is professional desktop software for people who capture the real world and then have to show it. Visualise, edit and animate unlimited LiDAR point clouds and Gaussian splats on a normal PC. No render farm. No “please wait while 40 GB loads” ritual. The Veesus XStream Engine streams billions of points in real time from disk.
This page covers the current public build 2026.3.9691.26847 (29 July 2026): new VPCR/VPCX containers, better XGRIDS LCC2 ingest, satellite mapping, clipbox span control, improved Gaussian editing, baked colour grading and a lighter, faster viewport. If you sell, specify or use scan data in AEC, surveying, infrastructure, forensics, heritage or film, this is the 2026 Arena4D you want on the product page.
✨ Why teams switch to Arena4D :
Most point-cloud tools are built for registration first and presentation last. Arena4D Data Studio is the opposite bet: make huge reality-capture files usable and beautiful on commodity hardware, then add measurement, GIS, time and animation so the same project can leave the office as a 4K film, a PDF pack or a live 3D scene.
- 🌐 Unlimited dataset size — stream point clouds and 3D Gaussian splats instead of choking RAM.
- ⏱️ Real 4D — every cloud, model, panorama, note and clip can have a start and end time.
- 🎬 Client-ready output — 4K / UHD fly-throughs, 360 panoramas, stills, PDF and PowerPoint-style packs.
- 🧠 Arena Intelligence AI — lighting, weather and style changes without a VFX operator.
- 📐 Engineering tools in the same view — measure, annotate, clip, register, classify and export.
- 🗺️ 3D GIS context — put scans on the globe with maps, satellite imagery, CAD and shapefiles.
The name is literal. “Arena” is the project. “4D” is X, Y, Z plus time. Ask “what stood on this deck last March?” and play the answer.
🚀 What’s new in version 2026.3 :
Build 2026.3.9691.26847 is the latest documented public release. It is aimed at XGRIDS / Gaussian-splat pipelines and at making huge scenes cheaper to play back.
📦 New formats & capture pipelines
- VPCR and VPCX support — open the newest Veesus compressed point-cloud containers without a workaround export.
- Improved XGRIDS LCC2 support — cleaner path from Lixel / LCC2 captures into VPC Creator and Arena4D.
- Drag and drop — drop files onto VPC Creator or Arena4D to start conversion and scene setup faster.
🎨 Viewport, grade and Gaussian tools
- Faster rendering, lower resource demand — navigate and play large clouds/splats with less GPU and CPU heat.
- Improved Gaussian splat editing — tighter cleanup and presentation of photoreal 3DGS scenes.
- Bake colour grading into VPC files — lock the approved look into the file so CAD plugins and colleagues see the same grade, not your local sliders.
- Improved X-ray effect — see-through inspection across Arena4D and the CAD plugins; tuned to be useful on site data, not only “film look”.
🧭 Scene control & GIS
- Satellite mapping in Arena4D — drop georeferenced scans onto satellite context for site-scale stories and stakeholder reviews.
- Clipbox span control — isolate a floor plate, bridge soffit or clash zone with finer span control instead of rebuilding the clip.
🛠️ Highlights already in the 2026 product line :
2026.3 sits on a year of shipped tools. These are not vapour — they arrived in 2026.1 / 2026.2 and remain part of Data Studio today.
- 🤖 Arena Intelligence — AI enhancement of point-cloud and splat visuals; photo-realism toggle.
- 📄 LAS 1.4 in VPC Creator and Arena4D.
- 🌍 Georeferenced Gaussian splats across the suite.
- 🎥 Animator upgrades — animate individual OBJ elements, colour, lens flare, bloom, improved shadows.
- 🔌 Better LCC2 / LGSx ingest and Gaussian splat support in SOLIDWORKS (plugin).
- 🧲 Improved point snapping in all Veesus apps.
Core jobs Arena4D is built to finish
- 📥 Load and stream LAS/LAZ, E57, Faro, Riegl, PTS, ASCII and converted VPC data.
- 🔗 Register clouds, including cloud-to-cloud workflows.
- ✂️ Edit at scale: select, hide, copy, delete, filter, colourise, classify, patch holes.
- 📏 Measure, annotate and extract deliverables (including vector-style outputs in supported workflows).
- 🧱 Combine panoramas, photos, documents, audio, GPS tracks, 2D/3D CAD and maps in one Arena.
- 🔒 Protect sensitive datasets (PIN, time-limited use, lock-down so files cannot be edited or exported — edition-dependent).
- 🥽 Optional VR viewing where your licence includes it.
🐛 Fixes and quality work (2026.2 → 2026.3) :
Veesus does not always publish a Hollywood-style “47 bugs squashed” list. The public unified changelog does document concrete fixes and tightening in the builds that lead into 2026.3:
- ✅ Fixed a mouse snapping bug on CAD drawings inside Arena4D.
- ✅ Fixed a Rhino scaling bug when the project was not in metres.
- ✅ Point snapping improved across the software family.
- ✅ X-ray in CAD plugins made less “cinematic glow” and more practical for model-vs-scan checks (Rhino + SOLIDWORKS).
- ✅ Better SOLIDWORKS depth rendering.
- ✅ Faster splat and point-cloud draw; better large-coordinate handling.
After install, use the in-app updater. Version strings look like 2026.3.9691.26847. A silent hot-fix can appear after the public changelog line — always check for updates before a deadline job.
💻 System requirements :
Official Veesus documentation lists a deliberately low floor. That is the point of XStream: the engine streams .VPC files from fast disk instead of demanding a 128 GB workstation. For production work, treat the “recommended” column as the real starting point.
| Item | Minimum | Recommended for production |
|---|---|---|
| 🖥️ OS | Windows 64-bit | Windows 64-bit with current GPU drivers |
| ⚙️ CPU | 2.0 GHz dual-core | Quad-core or better |
| 🧠 RAM | 2 GB | 8 GB or more (16 GB+ if you stack CAD + Arena4D) |
| 🎮 GPU | 1 GB VRAM, OpenGL 2.0 | Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU, latest drivers |
| 💾 Install size | ~200 MB for the application | SSD / M.2 NVMe for OS and especially for .VPC files |
Operator notes from Veesus:
- 📁 Keep .VPC files on SSD or NVMe. That single choice often beats a GPU upgrade.
- 🔄 Install current graphics drivers. Stale laptop drivers are the usual “it stutters” cause.
- 💻 On dual-GPU laptops, force the discrete GPU, not the Intel/AMD iGPU.
- 🎛️ NVIDIA Quadro: set NVIDIA Control Panel global preset to Dynamic Streaming.
- 🔄 Point clouds must be converted to VPC with the free VPC Creator for full-speed streaming. Leave headroom on disk — conversion can need up to ~3× the source size while it runs.
🏭 Who it is for :
- 📐 Survey & geospatial — huge LAS/LAZ, control, satellite context, measurements that survive a client meeting.
- 🏗️ AEC / BIM / CIM — as-built vs design, time-based site progress, scan-to-presentation without a second package.
- 🌉 Infrastructure — bridges, plants, corridors where the dataset is too big for “open in MeshLab and hope”.
- 🕵️ Public safety & forensics — timeline scenes, protected evidence packages (Public Safety / Professional feature sets).
- 🏛️ Heritage & film — photogenic fly-throughs, Gaussian splat tours, AI weather and grade without leaving the scan tool.
💡 Interesting facts (the kind buyers remember) :
- 🧩 4D is a data model, not a trailer. Objects have lifetimes. You are not faking time with five saved viewpoints; you are playing the project clock.
- ⚡ The engine is the product. XStream was built so billions of points run on a laptop you already own. That is why the official minimum RAM is still listed at 2 GB — ambitious, but the architecture is streaming, not “load world into memory”.
- 🎨 2026.3 lets the look travel with the file. Baking colour grading into the VPC means the approved grade is not trapped in one artist’s session.
- 🛰️ Satellite mapping in 2026.3 closes the gap between “pretty scan in a black void” and “this is the actual site on Earth.”
- 🤝 You keep the data. Veesus positions Arena4D as desktop-first: convert, view, deliver. Cloud and Arena4U exist for sharing, not as a hostage vault for your scans.
- 🔢 Version anatomy:
2026.3.9691.26847= year series . minor line . build. Easy to quote on a quote sheet and easy to check against the official unified changelog.
📤 Typical workflow :
- 🔄 Convert raw scans (LAS, E57, etc.) to VPC with VPC Creator — drag-and-drop in 2026.3.
- 📂 Open the VPC in Arena4D Data Studio.
- 🧹 Register, clip, clean, classify, grade. Bake the grade into the VPC if the look is signed off.
- 🗺️ Add maps, satellite context, CAD, panoramas and a time range.
- 🎬 Animate a fly-through or walk the scene in FPV.
- 📦 Export video, stills, documents or hand the same project to a CAD plugin / view-only package.
Unlicensed sessions watermark output. A valid Veesus licence or subscription removes the watermark and unlocks the full toolset for your edition (Studio / Standard / Professional or Public Safety — match the SKU you sell).
❓ FAQ buyers actually ask :
Is 2026.3 a new product or an update?
Same Arena4D Data Studio line. 2026.3 is the current documented feature drop on that line.
Does it replace Leica Cyclone or CloudCompare?
No. Cyclone is a vendor registration stack. CloudCompare is free science-grade editing. Arena4D is the visualisation, animation, 4D GIS and presentation layer that eats huge files on ordinary PCs.
Do I need a new PC?
Not if you already have a 64-bit Windows machine, a dedicated GPU and an SSD. Put the VPC on the SSD first.
Gaussian splats?
Yes. 2026 builds added georeferenced splats, better editing in 2026.3 and tighter XGRIDS LCC2 support.
🛒 Ready to specify Arena4D 2026.3?
Choose Veesus Arena4D Data Studio 2026.3 when the brief is: open the scan, put it on Earth, cut the noise, play time, grade the look, and deliver a 4K tour before the meeting starts. That is the job this build is tuned for.
➡️ Convert with VPC Creator. Open in Arena4D. Check you are on 2026.3.9691.26847 or newer. Then make the data move.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Arena4D Data Studio 2026.3 — Principal surveyor, infrastructure & HBIM
We open multi-gigabyte LAS and XGRIDS splats on a standard workstation and they stream. 2026.3 is the first build where the grade we sign off actually travels with the VPC, satellite context stops the “scan in a black void” problem, and X-ray is usable for soffit checks instead of just looking pretty. Animator still pays for the licence on its own: one afternoon, one 4K tour, client signed. Not a full registration suite — we still register elsewhere — but as the visualisation, 4D timeline and delivery layer it is the tool we keep on every project machine.
