Description
Polar Si9000e 2026 PCB Insertion Loss Field Solver v26.03.01 ⚡📐
Predict PCB insertion loss before you press copper. Polar Si9000e 2026 is the current frequency-dependent Boundary Element Method field solver for high-speed transmission lines — conductor loss, dielectric loss, total insertion loss, RLGC matrices and Touchstone S-parameters in one Windows workstation tool. Same proven BEM platform as Polar Si8000m, extended for broadband loss, roughness and measured-vs-modelled correlation.
Use it when a stackup must hold impedance and a loss budget: SerDes, PCIe, 56/112G, RF-on-board, HDI and embedded-trace builds. Explore design space in the Quick Solver, lock the stackup in Speedstack Si, generate coupons in CGen Si, then overlay Atlas or CITS measurements back onto the same structure.
🚀 Why teams specify Si9000e 2026
- Frequency-dependent solving from 1 kHz upward — not a single-frequency impedance snapshot
- 100+ single-ended and differential structures: microstrip, embedded microstrip, stripline, coplanar, coated, multi-dielectric, solder mask, resin-rich pair gaps
- Graphs that matter on a real board: impedance magnitude, skin depth, conductor / dielectric / total insertion loss, L, C, R, G, even/odd-mode Z, delay, velocity
- Export 2-port and 4-port Touchstone files (including multiple line lengths) for system-level SI
- Causal dielectric behaviour (Svensson–Djordjevic style) and copper-loss causality options
- Closed loop with Polar hardware: import Atlas insertion-loss data and CITS880s impedance logs (.CLF)
✨ What’s new in v26.03.01 (and the 2026 product line)
v26.03.01 is the official Si9000e 2026 build on Polar’s current software list (AP608). This release hardens licensing and the calculation stack for modern FlexNet servers:
🔐 FlexNet Publisher / FLEXlm v11.19.9.0 supported
🧮 CalcEngineBEMDll.dll v25.07.23.0
📦 PSec.dll v22.04.06.0 · PolarGraph v20.10.0.0 · PEGRP32F v8.0.0.62
🔧 TRCPlus.exe v24.10.00
The capabilities buyers actually open every day come from the 2025–2026 feature wave that this build ships with:
🧱 Eight Embedded Trace Substrate (ETS) structures
ETS Microstrip 1B1E · ETS Embedded Microstrip 1B1E1A · ETS Coplanar Strips 1B1E · ETS Embedded Coplanar Strips 1B1E1A — plus the four differential twins. File formats .Si8 / .Si9 / .SIP updated so ETS geometry survives save/reload and Speedstack exchange.
🎲 Monte Carlo Constant Trace Pitch
For differential pairs, hold pitch while W1/W2 move. Pitch column on the Iterations / Results tab; copy results to clipboard. Ideal when the CAD grid is fixed but etch tolerance is not.
📥 CITS880s v24.12 data-log import
Drop a current Polar CITS .CLF onto the model and compare measured impedance with the field-solver prediction on one graph.
🎯 Loss Tangent Goal Seek — Multiple Frequency
Pick up to five frequency points from Atlas (or typed insertion-loss data). Si9000e subtracts calculated conductor loss, goal-seeks TanD to match remaining dielectric loss, then writes Frequency / Er / TanD into the Extended Substrate Library for the next job.
📍 Frequency of Interest
Nominate up to 10 frequencies per structure (or apply to every structure in a Project). Result picker includes Attenuation with Roughness, Smooth Conductor Loss, Dielectric Loss, Measured Attenuation and Measured Effective Er. Copy the table straight into Excel.
🌊 Roughness that matches the foil you actually buy
Smooth · Hammerstad · Groisse · Gradient · Simonovich–Cannonball (Cannonball-Huray) with Rz / RMS preset tables. Goal-seek roughness when you have a measured S21 curve and a known geometry.
📊 Project graphing & multi-length Touchstone
Graph structures that do not share the same line length. Export a family of .s2p / .s4p files for several routed lengths in one pass.
🔌 Via toolbox
Differential via calculation, via-stub go/no-go and pad/antipad coaxial check on one tabbed dialog.
🛠️ Highlights for design, fab and SI
✅ Quick Solver lossless + frequency-dependent + sensitivity tabs
✅ Goal seek target Z or loss tangent
✅ Monte Carlo for process windows and yield-style sweeps
✅ Multi-dielectric stacks and soldermask above / between / adjacent to traces
✅ Extended substrate tables (Er and TanD vs frequency from the laminate vendor)
✅ Loss-budget line on the insertion-loss plot
✅ Bi-directional clipboard / project link with Speedstack Si 2026
✅ Optional Si Crosstalk, Si Projects, TRC Plus (DC resistance + temperature)
✅ Optional Si Excel 2026 interface (separate SKU; insertion-loss array formulas now shipping)
Interesting fact: Polar versions Si8000m and Si9000e in lockstep. Both current desktop solvers are v26.03.01. Si9000e is not a different mathematics product — it is the lossy, frequency-dependent sibling of the impedance solver most PCB shops already trust. That is why a CITS coupon and an Atlas loss coupon can be judged against one structure family.
🖥️ System requirements (Polar AP605)
💻 PC: IBM-compatible; 2 GHz minimum, Intel Core i7-class recommended for Monte Carlo and large Projects
🧠 RAM: 8 GB minimum · 16 GB+ recommended
💾 Disk: 500 GB class workstation recommended (application itself is small; libraries and projects grow)
🖼️ Display: 1920×1080 effective resolution; dual FHD useful with Speedstack. High-DPI: see Polar AP626
🪟 OS (client): Windows 10 or Windows 11, 32- or 64-bit
🖥️ OS (licence server): Windows Server 2016 / 2019+ for floating FlexNet
🔑 Licensing: FlexNet node-locked (Ethernet address or FLEXnet ID dongle) or floating/counted. Licences dated 2018+ will not run pre-2018 Si9000e
📦 Runtime: TRC Plus needs .NET Framework 4.8
⚠️ FlexNet v11.19.9.0 in this build expects Windows 10/11 or Server 2016+. Windows 7 ESU is out of support for current FlexNet.
🐞 Fixes and stability in the current line
v26.03.01 itself is a licence-manager and engine refresh. Neighbouring 2025 maintenance that you inherit in the 2026 installer:
- TRC Plus Edit Materials failure resolved
- Project Graphing no longer dies silently when one structure in the project has invalid geometry
- Atlas import respects locales that use a comma decimal
- Measured Effective Er plot no longer auto-scales into a fake “noisy Er” story
- CITS and Touchstone importers updated for current file variants and mismatched frequency spans
Always back up .Si9 / .SIP / Speedstack libraries before upgrade. If you run a floating licence, upgrade the FlexNet server before the clients.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SI / fabrication engineer :
“Si9000e 2026 is the solver we trust before we cut a coupon. Goal-seek and Cannonball-Huray roughness get us close to Atlas S21 on the first spin; ETS structures and Constant-Pitch Monte Carlo finally match how we actually etch differential pairs. UI is dated, maths is not. If you already live in Speedstack, this is the loss engine that belongs next to it.”
